Students of Ulusoy Maritime Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Conduct Interviews with Local Residents as Part of the "Beyond Boundaries: People" Project
Students from Ulusoy Maritime Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which is a partner in the Erasmus+ project "Beyond Boundaries: People," coordinated by France, conducted extensive interviews with local residents in their district. The aim was to gather opinions and experiences regarding refugees, especially those from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
The first topic discussed was the demographic structure of Syrian refugees in Turkey. According to data from the Directorate General of Migration Management of the Ministry of Interior, as of August 29, 2024, there are 3,096,157 registered Syrians under temporary protection in Turkey. Of this population, 52% are male and 48% are female, while 18% fall within the 15-24 age range. Based on these figures, students asked residents for their opinions on potential measures that should be taken regarding refugees.
